Rising Inflation
Hey guys today we will be discussing how benchmarks can be a very useful tools to display infographics. Now what are benchmarks? great question google says that it is "a visual representation that compares an organisation's performance metrics against industry standards, competitors, or other benchmarks to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. So with that being said lets take a look how The Wall Street Journal(WSJ) uses benchmarks to display how inflation looks less severe when using pre-pandemic comparisons
Now as we see from the graph above us we can that the benchmark shows the percentage and the years from 1950's to about 2020 with this we can see that the 4% is what we leave off on on the graph as this article was released in 2021
I feel as though the benchmark was used in the correct way in this graph as it shows a solid grey line on the 0%.
Overall benchmarks are a great tool when used correctly and it can really help show a certain goal or where we should be at as a country.
