LOLLIPOP CHARTS
INTRO
This week, we went over a lot of different charts from benchmark all the way to several other types. For me, I found a very humorous pull to the lollipop chart. I feel like it was very easy to follow along with and it was very simple, whether it be vertical or horizontal, which for me, has been a massive issue with some of the graphs and where I have some of my gripes with it. Below, I'll show you the application I used for my lollipop chart and the site I used for it
APPLICATION
This week, I used a site that offers up free lollipop charts with application of data. For my data pool, I used a website called Steam which has the most charted ten video games so I used that for my data since I have an interest in video games anyway! Here is the chart below and I'll link the site as well!

ReplyDeleteI would love to know what the website you used was, but I think you forgot to include it. Also, what website did you use to source the Steam data? Anyway, I don't know how customizable the website allows you to be, but I have some suggestions for how you could clean up the graph: 1) Get rid of what I assume is a vestigial legend at the top. 2) Get rid of one of the two sets of game labels; I would remove the x-axis set rather than the set above the data points. 3) I would make the heads of the lollipops bigger and put the numerical values in there. 4) The stems of the lollipops could be grayed out to put more emphasis on the relative positions of the heads.
