The Usefulness of Different Tools for Infographics
When it comes to my field of study in Business Analytics, you end up working with a lot of data. It can honestly be pretty overwhelming, and it’s not always easy to explain what the numbers actually mean. That’s where infographics can play a big role in all of this.
Infographics help turn complicated data into something visual, easy to understand, and way more interesting than just a list of numbers.
Tools Used For Infographics
In my research, as well as my progression in my degree, I have found several tools that are used that make it easy for developing infographics.
1. Canva
Canva is perfect for beginners. It’s drag-and-drop, has a bunch of templates, and you don’t need any design skills to make something that looks great. You can add charts, icons, and overall is a great way to give some flare to the data you want to present.
2. Tableau
Tableau, while more advanced, is a great tool for data visualization and something I’ve been using quite a bit in my studies. It’s great for making interactive dashboards, exploring different data sets, and presenting trending insights. Definitely one of my personal favorites.
3. Excel
While it might seem a bit old school, Excel is still super useful. You can make some really solid charts and graphs, and with a little creativity, you can actually build the base for great infographic visuals.
4. Google Sheets / Google Charts
This is another tool I use all the time. It’s similar to Excel but has some modern twists, like built-in scripts and cool formulas (like SQL-style queries) that help build more dynamic infographics.
Conclusion
Basically, these tools all play some sort of roll to help create a visuals that help depict a clearer story, and in the field of Business Analytics depicting a good story is everything.
So next time you need to put together some sort of visual project, I recommend giving some of these tools a look. I know for me, it has made things so much easier, and will continue to use them well after I finish my studies!
